Grailed is required to collect EU VAT (Value-Added Tax) on transactions, where applicable. If you are a buyer located within the European Union, you may see the additional tax on some transactions purchased from a seller located outside of the European Union.
The estimated VAT will be applied to your order automatically and shown on the checkout page. From there, Grailed will take the total tax collected and send it to the relevant government agency.
Please note that Grailed will not collect EU VAT if:
- The total cost of goods sold exceeds a certain threshold determined by the EU and the goods are not shipped from a location in the EU. If the cost of goods exceeds the prescribed amount and the goods are not shipped from a location in the EU, VAT is generally collected at the border and you may need to pay it as part of clearing your package through customs.
- You are EU VAT-registered and update your Grailed account with your valid VAT registration number. See instructions here on updating your Grailed account so that we do not charge you automatically.
