Seller Initiated Offers

Seller Initiated Offers allow sellers to reach out to the last 100 people who have favorited their listing with an offer. Buyers will receive a message with the offer details.

Seller Initiated Offers work very similarly to how seller counter-offers work now — just without the initial offer from the buyer.

For Sellers

Sellers will now have an option to send an offer to the last 100 users who followed an item.

To initiate an offer, simply navigate to For Sale or the item listing page in your browser. Or, in the app, tap Sell, then 'For Sale.' There, you’ll see a ‘Send Offer’ button on each of your listings. Hit the button, and you’ll see a window where you can fill in your offer price.

Note that the offered price excludes shipping, and must be at least a 10% discount on the current price of the item. If you've sent the buyer an offer before, your new offer needs to be at least 10% lower than the previous offer sent. Sellers can send out up to 2 offers per listings, and can only send out an offer on a listing every 24 hours. To ensure buyers aren't receiving too many offers, sellers can send only 10 offers per day.

Once the offer is sent, the last 100 users who favorited that listing will receive an email and push notification, as well as a message in their Grailed Inbox with your offer. You will only see the message appear in your Grailed inbox if you have previously interacted with the buyer on that listing, or if the buyer responds to your offer with a purchase, a counter-offer, or a message.

If you send out a seller initiated offer, and then later drop the price of your listing, buyers that were sent your offer will continue to see that price offered — not the newly dropped price.

Shipping

Buyers are responsible for paying any associated shipping costs for a US domestic order that uses a Grailed Label. This cost will appear as a separate line item at checkout when using the “Purchase” option or when submitting a binding offer.

For Buyers

If you favorited an item, the seller can now proactively send you an offer. Note that only the last 100 favorites of an item will receive a seller initiated offer.

You’ll receive a message in your Grailed inbox with the offer — if you like what you see, you can accept the offer and purchase the item. Or you can counter-offer, or ask a question, just like normal.
