What is Grailed’s shipment policy?
Depending on the delivery option offered by the seller, the time that a seller is allotted to drop their package off with the carrier may vary.
With standard delivery options, sellers have seven business days from the date of purchase to add accurate tracking information and drop the item with the carrier. After this timeframe the order will be automatically canceled and the buyer refunded.
Sellers shipping an item sold with an Expedited Delivery option have 2 business days from time of sale to drop off the item with the carrier. Items not shipped on time can be canceled by the Grailed Support Team and the buyer will be refunded.
How did we decide on this shipment policy?
We ran the numbers! With consistent site-wide policies in place, buyers are more likely to feel safe making purchases on the platform.
We looked at what our sellers were already doing.
Over 95% of sellers on Grailed already add tracking to their sales within seven days.
We asked our buyers what they expected when placing orders.
The overwhelming majority of buyers agree that they expect shipment within seven days of the sale occurring, and we do too.
What does this mean for me as a seller?
Sellers are required to ship and add tracking to their Standard Delivery sales within 7 business days of the order being placed. Sales made with an Expedited Delivery option must be shipped with tracking within 2 business days of the order date. Sales for either delivery option that are not shipped within their processing time may be automatically canceled.
Sellers can find a live countdown clock directly within the message thread with their buyers.
There is a clear visual indication in your sold items if a listing still needs tracking.
If tracking has not yet been added to your sale, we’ll send you automated reminders to add shipping before the refund occurs.
What if I cannot ship within the required time frame?
Buyers can grant an extension to their seller for up to 14 days if a mutual shipping extension is agreed upon. This will prevent a refund from occurring after the original seven days if tracking has not been added yet.
Buyers can grant an extension directly from their messages on the sold listing. Simply reach out to your buyer if an issue arises and request an extension.
Please note, buyers are not obligated to grant an extension.
Buyers who selected Expedited Delivery may contact us to cancel their order after 2 business days if the seller has not shipped their item by then.
What does this mean for me as a buyer?
Security.
As a buyer, if your order is not fulfilled, you know that your funds will be returned to you.
Confidence in the marketplace.
Grailed has automated systems in place to recover your funds if the order cannot be completed.
Simplicity.
Holding funds until the item is shipped means refunds can be received without having to go through the dispute process. This saves you time and effort.

Buyers will find an “Extend Shipping Time” button in the top-right of their messages to grant the seller an additional 14 days.
I use Grailed Labels which adds tracking automatically to my sales—does this affect me?
Using Grailed Labels will automatically add tracking to your sale. You will still need to ship your item within seven days of the purchase date.
