What is Vacation Mode?
Vacation Mode is an easy-to-use feature for sellers that lets you take a break when you’re traveling or otherwise temporarily unable to manage your Grailed account—without missing out on potential sales. When you turn on Vacation Mode, your listings still remain purchasable. Buyers will see that your profile and your listings are on Vacation Mode and be notified that their purchase will not be shipped until you return. You can continue to message users and use the site as usual.
How do I benefit from Vacation Mode?
As a seller, Vacation Mode lets you take a break from managing your Grailed account without missing out on sales and manages buyer expectation on when they might receive their item.
Can I continue selling while in Vacation Mode?
Yes! You can continue to sell and transact as normal while on Vacation Mode.
Can I continue buying while in Vacation Mode?
Yes! You can continue to buy and transact as normal while on Vacation Mode.
When should I use Vacation Mode?
To give buyers the most confidence in you as a seller, use Vacation Mode when your ability to ship and respond in a timely manner will be affected.
You might want to use Vacation Mode if:
- You are on vacation or going out of town
- You are taking a short break
- You have anything else that would delay you from shipping sales
Choose an end date that accurately reflects the day you will be able to start shipping again. Buyers will expect their item to ship immediately upon your return and may not want to purchase again if you delay shipping further.
How long can I be in Vacation Mode?
You can set yourself to be in Vacation Mode for up to 21 days. This feature is intended for temporary breaks from selling and lets buyers know when they can expect their purchases to ship. Once it reaches your end date, Vacation Mode messaging will be automatically removed from your profile and your listings. All standard shipping and purchase rules will apply again.
You can manually turn off Vacation Mode at any time before your end date to let buyers know that you’re back and ready to ship.
How do I turn on Vacation Mode?
- Web: visiting the Vacation Mode screen under your profile.
- iOS: visiting the Vacation Mode screen in your Sell Tab
Please note that you can only turn on Vacation Mode the day you’d like to start—you cannot schedule Vacation Mode in advance.
How do I set my end date?
Choose your end date for the day that you’ll be ready to ship again. Your end date will be used to set the expectations of potential buyers who want to know when you’ll be able to ship before making their purchase.
Once it reaches your end date, all Vacation Mode messaging will be automatically removed, all shipping and purchase rules will apply, and you’ll be expected to immediately ship any items that were purchased while you were away.
Can I edit my end date?
You cannot edit your end date once it’s been set. To show a new end date on your profile and listings, you must manually turn off Vacation Mode and start a new period with the new end date. We do this to ensure that all sales made during Vacation Mode are fulfilled in accordance with the buyer’s original expectations.
If you need to extend your current Vacation Mode period but have already made sales, please reach out to the buyer directly to make sure that they understand and accept the new shipping date; otherwise, refund them before updating your Vacation Mode settings.
How do I turn off Vacation Mode?
You can manually turn off Vacation Mode from your Seller Dashboard. Otherwise, it will automatically turn off on the end date you set when you first turned on Vacation Mode.
What time will Vacation Mode turn off?
Vacation Mode will turn off at 12:00 AM in the time zone where you originally turned it on. When turning on Vacation Mode, please remember to set your end date for the day you will be able to begin shipping again.
I received an offer while in Vacation Mode - can I accept?
Congratulations on the offer! You can accept the offer, as the buyer has been told that you won’t be able to ship until your Vacation Mode end date.
If you accept and the sale is made, note that you’re expected to ship immediately after your Vacation Mode ends.
I made a sale while in Vacation Mode - what do I do now?
Congratulations on the sale! Don’t worry about shipping while you’re away, we’ve notified the buyer not to expect their item to ship until your Vacation Mode end date.

Can buyers purchase with an Expedited Delivery option while I'm in Vacation Mode?
No. If you are opted in to Expedited Delivery, these options will be turned off while you are in Vacation Mode. Expedited Delivery will automatically turn back on when you turn off Vacation Mode.
What about my Badges?
Items sold while in Vacation mode will not be included in your Speedy Shipper badge calculation. For your Quick Responder badge, response times will not be tracked while you are in Vacation Mode.
