If you're not sure about a listing or are concerned about an unsafe transaction, we've compiled some tips on how to safely make a purchase.
If you haven’t already done so, we recommend following the trust and safety guide here for any specific concerns.
1. Make purchases only on the Grailed app or desktop website.
If you haven’t already done so, we recommend following the trust and safety guide here for any specific concerns.
1. Make purchases only on the Grailed app or desktop website.
By purchasing through the Grailed payment platform with a connected PayPal or Stripe account, you can ensure you'll be fully protected if anything goes wrong, and you will be refunded the full amount if your item doesn't arrive or is significantly not as described. You should never pay for an item offsite - be it directly through PayPal, bank transfer, concealed cash or any other methods outside of Grailed. Any meet-in-person transactions are also not eligible for Buyer Protection and are at the discretion of the parties involved.
NOTE: Payments made via the guest checkout option (without logging into a PayPal account) are not eligible for Buyer Protection. For more information regarding guest checkouts, see here (will be a link).
2. Check the seller’s transaction history and feedback rating.
2. Check the seller’s transaction history and feedback rating.
Locate the seller details on a listing page or through their profile overview. Check to see if a user has previously transacted on Grailed by identifying the total amount of Bought & Sold transactions. The total transaction number is also shown next to a username in parenthesis ().
If a user has received feedback for past sales, they'll have a seller feedback score shown under their Bought & Sold transaction count. You can click on the feedback count via their profile overview or directly through a listing to view their feedback page and see how previous buyers rated their experience with this seller. If the seller’s account shows a transaction amount but no feedback, this is typically indicative of them having only ever purchased on the site previously (buyer feedback is only tracked internally). You can also see any badges(add hyperlink) on their account.

3. Talk to the seller.
Honest sellers should have nothing to hide. You can message the seller directly through the listing and communicate with the seller via Messages if you feel like the there's missing information about the item. Some things you may wish to ask for might include proof of purchase if it's not already shown or tagged photos (photos with their username on them, usually written on a sheet of paper) from a newer seller as proof that the item is in the seller's possession. If you don't see a shipping option for your location, you can also use this feature to ask about the price including shipping costs to your location.

4. Keep an eye out for signs of inauthenticity.
We have a team of moderators working around the clock to keep Grailed free of inauthentic items but they may not catch every inauthentic item listed. If you see a suspicious listing that doesn't appear to be authentic, might be purposefully concealing signs of inauthenticity, or have received a weird message from the seller, you should report it to us using the 'Report' button so we can investigate further. You can also reach out to us via help@grailed.com if you’re having any issues in reporting.
5. Ask the seller to ship the item with full tracking information.
When the seller ships with full tracking, both parties will know where the item is at any given time and will be notified when it's delivered. If the seller hasn't added a tracking number to your conversation within a few days, you should remind them and contact our support team for further assistance if they do not add tracking after 7 days.
And finally...
We value our community above all else, so in the event that something goes wrong and you have followed the proper procedures, we'll ensure you receive the item you purchase as described or your money back. If you do run into any issues, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team.
