Grailed Labels are expanding into Canada! Beginning on May 22nd, all new listings shipping to the US from Canada will use Grailed Labels. Grailed Labels makes it faster, easier and more predictable for eligible sellers to ship to US buyers.
Here’s how it works:
- Buyers pay for the label: US buyers now take on the cost of shipping and taxes, saving you on out-of-pocket seller costs. The pre-paid label is instantly available once your item sells.
- Sellers save time and effort: No more measuring or weighing items, dealing with addresses, figuring out insurance, or manually adding tracking. All of this is handled automatically, including customs forms.
- Ship it and forget it: You’re done once the package is scanned by the carrier. Our Support Team will jump in and work with the buyer if anything goes wrong. Just reach out and we’ll handle the rest.
Below are some updates you can expect when shipping with Grailed Labels from Canada.
Can I opt out of Grailed Labels?
In an effort to standardize and simplify the shipping experience for buyers and sellers, all CA-to-US transactions will now be required to use Grailed Labels.
What shipping carriers are available to me?
UPS and Canada Post are the primary carriers for Canadian sellers depending on the size of the package and your shipping location. However, if you are shipping an XL item over 20 lbs, please contact us. You will need to purchase your own label and ship with a carrier of your choice. Don’t forget to upload valid tracking to your listing when shipping an XL package.
What if a UPS Drop-Off location is not available in my area?
If you are not located near a UPS location, please contact us so we may assist you in receiving an alternate shipping label.
Do I need to generate my own shipping label?
A label will be automatically generated for you! However, in the event that there is an issue with the automatic label generation, you can do so yourself by heading into your Sold listings page, or directly to the listing itself, and clicking Generate Label.
A popup will appear prompting you to enter the Country of Origin for the item you are selling. Please note, you need to correctly enter the country the item was manufactured in or the label will not generate for you.
Will I ever need to complete customs forms?
No, you will not. With Grailed Labels, all customs information is completed automatically and stored digitally on your label, so you no longer need to print out customs forms and bring them with you to the post office.
Can I add signature confirmation to my Grailed Label?
For shipments from Canada to the US, Grailed Labels will only generate for sales up to $750. For all Canada-to-US sales over $750, you will need to purchase your own label and ship with the carrier of your choice. In this case, you can add signature confirmation as a requirement with your selected carrier.
How is my label size determined?
Grailed determines which label size to provide sellers based on their listing information. Since the label generated is based on an estimated weight for the item, Grailed will cover any label surcharges for packages <20 pounds.
However, Grailed Labels are not offered for listings >20 pounds. Sellers of >20-pound packages are responsible for purchasing their own label and contacting us so we can edit their transaction.
Can I print my label with a thermal printer?
You can easily print Grailed Labels for US orders in 4x6 dimensions. To set as your default printing option, select Thermal Label as their Shipping Label Preference in Settings.
Do I need to pay taxes and duties on these sales?
We do not expect Canadian sellers to pay any taxes or duties when shipping to the US with Grailed Labels. In the off-chance a sale gets charged with additional taxes, the buyer will be responsible for payment.
